Joker malware can steal information from mobile

'Joker' malware has once again become a nightmare for Android phone users. On a smartphone running the Android operating system, Malware enters the Google Play Store in the guise of a real app. When it attacks someone's smartphone or other device, it can take access to SMS. The malware-spreading miscreants can use the Joker to grab all the contact list and device information of the smartphone.

This threatens the privacy of the user. Experts at the cyber security firm Checkpoint say they have found Joker Dropper and premium dialer spyware on the Google Play Store.

Earlier this year, Google announced that Joker malware was in the Play Store. This harmful program has been in the Google Play Store since 2016. Google cited this as the longest-running risk they've ever had to deal with.

The reason for the panic over the malware is that in addition to raising concerns about privacy, the Joker may secretly launch an app subscription or purchase premium services or apps from a website.

Google has already removed malware from 11 malicious apps. About the new malware, Aviran Hazum, manager of Checkpoint's mobile research, said the Joker has returned in disguise. Analyzing the applications that contained the Joker malware, it was found to capture important information. In this case, Google's security system is not enough.

Several Joker malware apps have been uploaded to the Google Play Store. Many people download these. Although 11 apps have been removed since last April, the risk of malware has not decreased. The Joker can change form again. So everyone needs to understand how the Joker hurts.

Researchers also say that users should be wary of the Joker silently interacting with various ad-filled websites and stealing SMS, contact lists and device information from mobile devices.
