Will Microsoft force the use of Edge browser in Windows 10 Mail?

Microsoft Edge, a built-in Internet browsing software for the Windows 10 operating system, has a market share of 4 percent, much lower than Google Chrome's 59 percent market share. But recently Microsoft has experimentally added a new feature to the Inside Preview Build 1623 Skip Ahead version of Windows 10 that will force you to use Windows Edge browser in some cases. Discussions and criticisms have already started about it.

This experimental feature comes in the Windows Mail app, which is included in the Windows 10 operating system. An experimental new addition to this is that all the emails you use in the Windows Mail app will open in the Microsoft Edge browser as soon as all the links in the incoming mail are clicked. Whatever your default browser is on the computer, clicking on any link in the Windows Mail app will open it directly in the Microsoft Edge browser. That is, the Windows 10 Mail app does not show any options for instant browser selection.

The final version of Windows 10 Build 1823 SkipAhead will be the next major update of OST, which will be released in September this year. Many regulators, such as the European Competition Commission, are unlikely to implement such a browser-enabled feature, although Microsoft claims that Windows 10 provides users with a safer, faster and more energy-efficient experience. But the convenience of choosing a browser may eventually be added to the mail app.

In the Windows Insider program, Microsoft adds several new features to collect feedback from Windows 10 users. After seeing everyone's opinion, various changes are made in the features. Now we have to wait a few more days to see if something like this will come in the mail app. Because, no decision like pressing the browser has been appreciated before.

As a regular visitor to Banglatech, you may remember that Microsoft was fined ১ 831 million in 2013 for not allowing Windows users to choose the browser of their choice from 2008 to 2011. The European Commission fines this. So the tech giant must think that something like this should not happen again.
