Apple's new advice on laptop cameras

Apple has warned those who use small plastic covers to keep their cameras safe. The company has advised not to 'close' the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro with this cover camera.

That being said, Apple opened a support page for their users earlier this month. Such suggestions are found on this page of their website. The iPhone maker says shutting down a laptop with a camera cover could damage the display. Because the keyboard and display are very tight, it can damage the light sensor.

Those who need to use the cover can open it before closing the laptop at the end of the work. In the case of more camera privacy, users should regularly check which apps are using the camera. If you do not want to give camera access to an app, you can revoke 'Permission' from the Camera section.
